Monday- Students will collect and analyze their data from their bacterial growth lab. Students will begin to study invertebrates.
Tuesday/ Wednesday- Students will begin to study annelids. Wild Wigglers Lab. Students will compare a gummy worm with a live earthworm and complete the External Structure of an Earthworm Lab. Thursday- Students will begin their Science Inquiry Competency Lab by conducting an experiment to study the effect of temperature on an Earthworms Heart Rate. Friday- Earthworms Heart Rate Lab. Monday- Harmful Microorganisms Presentations.
Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday- Block days- Finish Project Presentations and Students will collect Data for the Bacterial Growth Lab. Students will identify and observe how disease is spread by participating in a Glow Germ Activity and lesson on hand washing. Students will identify the differences between Bacteria and Viruses. Friday- Students will observe a real life story of how Typhoid was spread and how it led to us being able to control how diseases are spread by watching a video on Typhoid Mary. CRT TESTING THIS WEEK- MONDAY AND TUESDAY- READING PART 1 AND PART 2.
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY- MATHEMATICS PART 1 AND PART 2. Monday, tuesday- Students will set up Bacterial Growth Lab. Student will work on data collection for their Disease Research Project in the computer lab. (Harmful Microorganisms). Wednesday/Thursday- Students will continue to work on the Harmful Microorganisms Research Project. Friday- Students will Present their disease to the class. Harmful Microorganisms Presentations. HARMFUL MICROORGANISMS IS TO BE DONE AT SCHOOL! NO HOMEWORK UNLESS DID NOT FINISH BY FRIDAY. Monday- Students will complete notetaker on the levels of Classification.
Tuesday- Students will use dichotomous keys to identify organisms and the states. Homework-Classify the States Worksheet. Wednesday/Thursday- Students will create a dichotomous key of their own as a class. Students will create a Domain/Kingdoms of Life Cube as a notetaker. Friday- Students will identify and describe the similarities and differences between Archae and Bactertia. Students will begin their Harmful Microorganisms Research Project. Presentations and Projects will be given on April 20th. |
